East Lothian Groups Receive Funding from The National Lottery Community Fund

That the Parliament congratulates the East Lothian groups in receipt of funding from The National Lottery Community Fund; understands that Dirleton Good Neighbours received over £7,000 to help fund the group’s outdoor market, Dunbar Traditional Music Festival received £9,500 to extend its events for the festival in 2022, Dunbar Surf Life Saving Club received almost £10,000 to help provide life-saving equipment and training for beach warden patrols, East Lothian Roots and Fruits SCIO received £9,000 to help with the installation of a summerhouse at its hub, which will provide more space for community activities and events; further understands that North Berwick Coastal Community Connections received almost £200,000, from the Improving Lives funding programme, to enhance existing projects that seek to reduce isolation and loneliness through drop-in cafes, provide befriending opportunities, as well as training volunteers as compassionate neighbours to support people facing terminal illness or dealing with bereavement; acknowledges what it sees as the great community benefit of these groups, and thanks the groups for their work in the community and congratulates them on receipt of this funding.
