Y2K Volunteers Tackle Litter in the Local Community

  • Submitted by: Colin Beattie, Midlothian North and Musselburgh, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 10 December 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02495

That the Parliament applauds the hard work of Y2K in Mayfield in tackling the issue of litter around their community; notes that this was in partnership with Newbattle High School, and undertaken by young volunteers of the project, who have collectively put hours into their litter-picking efforts; believes that littering remains an issue in communities, but that it is easily avoidable; considers that everyone has a duty to care for their communities and a part to play in keeping them tidy, and thanks the young people at Y2K for showing such initiative and setting a good example for others.
