That the Parliament congratulates the Sunnyside School of Conservation in Glasgow on winning the Nature of Scotland Award for Nature Champions of the Decade at the tenth annual awards for its work over many years to make a big difference to nature and climate through a range of actions, such as its Nae Straw At Aw campaign, which led to Glasgow City Council banning the use of plastic straws in its restaurants and school canteens; notes that Sunnyside was selected by popular vote, demonstrating the number of people inspired by its work; recognises the achievements of all the winners and those shortlisted for the Nature of Scotland Awards, which are sponsored by NatureScot and RSPB Scotland, and acknowledges the importance of practical conservation projects in protecting and restoring Scotland’s unique and beautiful wildlife and biodiversity.
