Neglected Kelso Church Set for Film Studio Role

That the Parliament congratulates all those involved in the conversion of the long-neglected Trinity North Church in Kelso into a film studio; understands that there have been many failed attempts to refurbish the property, which was constructed 130 years ago, but that, after being purchased by Blue Mill Studios Ltd, plans have been submitted to the Scottish Borders Council to give the property a new life; further understands that the hall will be turned into a residential base for staff and that the main church building will be used for film-studio work and community activities, including exhibitions, meetings and local events, and considers that the proposal is a great opportunity to ensure that the former church is given life in the community and to help to maintain the link that the building has with the people of Kelso.
