Climate Action Towns

  • Submitted by: Ariane Burgess, Highlands and Islands, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 17 November 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02136

That the Parliament celebrates the seven towns across Scotland that have been chosen to help drive a transition to net zero through the Climate Action Towns programme; recognises that £146,000 will be delivered by Architecture and Design Scotland; acknowledges that the project will be driven by communities and their vision of what their Climate Action Town will look like; believes that, by creating a Just Transition Alliance as part of the Under2 Coalition, the Scottish Government is accessing a shared network of resources from 200 devolved administrations, and looks forward to the implications of recognising the value of rural community’s involvement in a Just Transition.
