Achtercairn Regeneration

That the Parliament congratulates the regeneration project in Achtercairn, Gairloch, for winning Best Regeneration Project – Rural and Suburban at the Inside Housing Development Awards in London; commends the Communities Housing Trust for transforming the derelict site into 25 affordable houses, new shops, commercial space and a cafe, which stocks local goods; understands that the site also hosts the Gale Centre, which is an energy-efficient tourist hub; considers that the development is a great example of a climate-friendly 20-minute neighbourhood, and understands that the project has helped successfully address a depopulation issue, as evidenced by school roll numbers, which are now on the rise.
