  • Submitted by: Alexander Burnett, Aberdeenshire West, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 25 October 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01753

That the Parliament congratulates Chloe Shorten for winning the Farm Worker of the Year award at the British Farming Awards 2021; understands that Chloe, who is 22 years old and from a non-farming background, manages a 1,140 sow unit for JC Innes and Son in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, and entered the pig industry in 2017 after discovering a passion for farming; recognises that she has sought new opportunities and ideas to improve the farm, and has an impressive following on TikTok, which she uses to help engage with people and improve public opinion of the industry, and wishes her all the best for the future.
