Robert Gordon University Receives £1.7 million North East Economic Recovery and Skills Funding

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that Robert Gordon University has been awarded £1.7 million from the Scottish Government's North East Economic Recovery and Skills Funding programme; understands that the University plans to use the funding to deliver entrepreneurship, health, social care and upskilling initiatives for people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and energy transition; further understands that representatives at the University have identified the funding as, "very welcome" and that it will assist in addressing the "particular challenges" encountered by the city of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire regions; believes that the funding is part of an overall package of £14.3 million of Scottish Government funding for the north-east, which aims to accelerate economic growth and boost employment prospects for approximately 3,000 people across the city of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire; recognises all involved at Robert Gordon University for receipt of the funding, and wishes them every success in the future.
