Congratulating the Robert Gordon University Law Society on its Lost Hours Walk Charity Event

  • Submitted by: Liam Kerr, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 18 October 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01702

That the Parliament congratulates the Robert Gordon University law society on organising Lost Hours Walk 2021 and raising money for the charity, CALM; recognises that this event is held to remember those lost to suicide, grieve them and prevent it from happening again; further recognises the vital importance of events such as this in raising awareness of, and generating funds for, suicide prevention, in light of figures stating that 125 people take their own lives each week; commends the charity, CALM, for its fantastic work standing up to stereotypes, operating a free and confidential helpline every day and supporting those bereaved by suicide through the Support After Suicide Partnership, and wishes both the Robert Gordon University law society and CALM continued success in raising awareness.
