St Margaret's School for Girls Aberdeen Reaches Final of the CyberFirst Girls Competition

That the Parliament congratulates pupils from St Margaret’s School for Girls, Aberdeen, on reaching the final of the CyberFirst Girls Competition, run by the National Cyber Security Centre, which aims to encourage more girls aged 12 to 13 to pursue their interest in cyber security; understands that the competition is a team event with three different stages designed to test logic, networking and cryptography, and that participants are drawn from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland; notes that finalists have been invited to the McLaren Technology Centre, in Woking, Surrey, to celebrate their success; encourages eligible pupils to participate in the 2022 competition, for which registration opens on 18 October 2021, and commends initiatives such the CyberFirst Girls Competition to help close the UK’s cyber skills gap.
