Furniture Project Shortlisted for Top Award

That the Parliament congratulates the Furniture Project in Stranraer on being shortlisted in the Community Led Regeneration section of the prestigious 2021 Scotland’s Regeneration Forum (SURF) Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration, which identify best practice, innovation and achievement in interventions that improve communities; welcomes and acknowledges what it sees as the important role played by this initiative in the south west by helping young people who have been long-term unemployed gain valuable skills and make personal progress, while supporting community reuse of furniture, clothing and other household goods; recognises the work of SURF, which is a charity that has a membership of more than 300 organisations and whose regeneration work aims to assist socially- and economically-challenged communities, and wishes everyone involved in the Furniture Project success at the award finals on 9 December.
