Relaunch of the National Whisky Festival

  • Submitted by: Audrey Nicoll, Aberdeen South and North Kincardine, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 28 September 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01363

That the Parliament welcomes the relaunch of the National Whisky Festival, which took place at the Aberdeen Music Hall, on 18 September 2021; understands that the two-day event sold out on the day, with 800 people in attendance; notes that more than 20 exhibitors participated, giving people opportunities to sample whiskies from across Scotland and participate in masterclasses; commends the organisers for managing the event, the first since the festival had to close following the COVID-19 pandemic, which required attendees to carry out lateral flow tests to ensure people's safety; congratulates all involved for a successful event, and passes on its best wishes for every success in the future.
