Prestfest Returns

  • Submitted by: Sharon Dowey, South Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 09 September 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01135

That the Parliament celebrates the return of Prestfest, Prestwick's annual music festival; understands that the festival was cancelled last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but returned for a packed three-day calendar; further understands that the highlight of Prestfest was the parade along Main Street, led by Kilmarnock Pipe Band; recognises the value that music and entertainment businesses have to Prestwick and Ayrshire; notes the difficult period musicians have gone through during the COVID-19 pandemic, with little or no opportunity to play in public, and congratulates the organisers and performers for helping Prestfest return to the stage in Prestwick.
