Cathy MacPhail

  • Submitted by: Stuart McMillan, Greenock and Inverclyde, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 09 September 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01093

That the Parliament notes, with great sadness, the passing of much-loved children’s author, Cathy MacPhail, who won the Grampian Children’s Book Award and Portsmouth Book Award during her career, which saw her write more than 30 books; understands that the Greenock-born author was well known in the community, and further afield, for her work in schools and libraries, and also for her role as an ambassador for the charity Children 1st; further understands that Cathy’s books are loved by many people of all ages, and that her books will be her lasting legacy, and hopes that her stories continue to bring enjoyment to readers for many years to come.
