Falkirk Council Funding for Friends of Inchyra Park

  • Submitted by: Michelle Thomson, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 06 September 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01035

That the Parliament congratulates Friends of Inchyra Park on being awarded £4,598 from Falkirk Council’s Environment Improvement Fund (EIF); notes that this will be used to make improvements to the park and allow a trailer to be bought for the community to be used on pop-up litter picks with the G-Litter team as well as helping with flower planting efforts in and around the area; understands that the EIF helps individuals, groups or landowners carry out projects, clean-up events or introduce prevention measures that will encourage residents, businesses and landowners to take pride in the Falkirk district; recognises the improvements made by the volunteers involved and the positive impact this has on the communities surrounding the park in Grangemouth; considers it important that communities are able to take pride in their own area; encourages more people to become involved in groups such as Friends of Inchyra Park, and looks forward to seeing Scotland's parks continue to improve and flourish at the hands of dedicated volunteers.
