The Art of Farming Project

  • Submitted by: Karen Adam, Banffshire and Buchan Coast, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 02 September 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01004

That the Parliament commends the partnership of Live Life Aberdeenshire's cultural engagement team with Aberdeenshire’s farming community, the National Farmers Union, and Robert Gordon University in developing The Art of Farming project; applauds what it sees as their innovative work in tackling rural mental health issues and social isolation, by bringing together artists and farmers to exchange life skills and stories, in order to build meaningful social connections and develop creative responses together; recognises that farming communities often suffer from social exclusion and loneliness, leading to poor mental health; supports the project in its goal to break down cultural barriers, and wishes it every success in the future.
