Lola’s Litter Pick

  • Submitted by: Michelle Thomson, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 30 July 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00784

That the Parliament thanks the children of Maddiston who will be going into P2 at the local primary school after summer for their hard work at a recent litter pick in the village; understands that Lola, with help from her mum, Karen, wanted to help protect the environment and meet up with her friends at the same time, and decided that a litter pick was the best way to do this; considers that their efforts in helping clear rubbish from around the school and in the local Valley Park are incredibly important in keeping their home town clean and the environment safe from the pollution that litter brings with it; congratulates the 13 children, and their parents and guardians, on the work that they did in clearing eight bags of rubbish from the local area; thanks Lola for her great idea to meet up with friends and help the environment at the same time, and encourages everyone in the Falkirk East constituency and beyond to build on this great example of community spirit from these young citizens.
