Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust, A Flag for Maryhill

That the Parliament commends the ongoing initiative by the Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust, A Flag for Maryhill; notes that the competition involves individuals, community groups and schools creating designs for a community flag; understands that the inspiration for A Flag for Maryhill was to bring the community together to reflect and celebrate the history of Maryhill, as well as look to the future; notes that a final set of designs have been chosen by the guest judges, including Janey Godley and Jane McCarry; further notes that voting for the flag commenced on 5 July 2021 and is open until 17 August; encourages people in the local community to get involved and have their say; looks forward to the community celebration on 2 October, where the winning flag will be unveiled, and commends the Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust for its ongoing efforts to promote community heritage and history across Maryhill, including ambitious plans to further develop the Burgh Halls as a Maryhill Museum.
