  • Submitted by: Miles Briggs, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 30 June 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00563

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of Care Radio, the UK's first dedicated radio station for carers, this June; notes that there are around nine million paid and unpaid carers across the UK, including NHS workers, care home employees and at-home carers; recognises that carers have played an important role throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting older, infirm and vulnerable people; pays tribute to the many volunteers, individuals and organisations supporting Care Radio; believes that a dedicated radio station for carers will help to raise awareness about the role of carers and celebrate their achievements; wishes the Care Radio team every success with their launch, and encourages everyone who cares to listen at careradio.org.
