That the Parliament commends Professor Fiona McQueen on her appointment as CBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honour List; notes that Fiona enjoyed a lengthy and laudable career, beginning with a clinical post in neurosurgery before serving as the Executive Director for Nursing for NHS Lanarkshire for six years, Executive Nurse Director for NHS Ayrshire and Arran and, latterly, as the Chief Nursing Officer for Scotland from 2014 to 2021; recognises that she was due to step down from that in role in June 2020, but stayed in post to assist with the response to COVID-19 pandemic; marks the contribution that Fiona, who is also an Honorary Professor of the University of the West of Scotland, has made, not just to the health and wellbeing of Ayrshire residents, but for people and communities across Scotland, and thanks her for her work to keep Scotland safe.
