Post Offices and CJ Lang

  • Submitted by: Neil Gray, Airdrie and Shotts, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 11 June 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00362

That the Parliament recognises the value and importance of local Post Offices to the communities that they serve; supports the need to retain the variety of services for people across society; notes with disappointment the reported decision by CJ Lang to propose the closure of 31 branches in its Spar stores across Scotland, including Allanton in the Airdrie and Shotts constituency, and calls on the Post Office and CJ Lang to engage in talks to guarantee a future for Post Office services in the communities affected.
