Lochlea to Distil the Taste of Burns

  • Submitted by: Sharon Dowey, South Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 09 June 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00309

That the Parliament notes that the Lochlea Distillery, based at Lochlea Farm in Ayrshire, is set to bottle its first whisky this year; appreciates that Lochlea Farm was the home and workplace of Robert Burns from 1777 to 1784; understands that the site remains a working farm and has been for nearly 250 years; gathers that the barley used for the whisky comes from the same fields that Robert Burns tended on Lochlea Farm, and welcomes this latest addition to the Scottish distillery family.
