  • Submitted by: Gordon MacDonald, Edinburgh Pentlands, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 04 June 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00246

That the Parliament congratulates the pupils and staff of Currie Community High School on being announced as the winners of Scotland's Enterprising Schools (SES) Most Enterprising School award at the annual SES Awards, held in conjunction with Young Enterprise Scotland's Festival of Youth Enterprise 2021; understands that SES is an online resource where practitioners can access support and ideas to help them embed enterprise into the curriculum, receive professional learning sessions and mentoring, and attend authority-wide conferences; notes that membership of the online platform is free and practitioners can download a variety of resources covering ages three to 18; agrees with SES that the “Enterprising Schools Awards have given us the chance to celebrate truly enterprising approaches to learning and teaching as schools have adapted to changing circumstances during this difficult year”, and recognises the life-changing impact that enterprise education can have on students.
