  • Submitted by: Maurice Golden, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 01 June 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00179

That the Parliament welcomes the news that six beaches in Angus have been recognised with a Scotland’s Beach Award; understands that the award, from Keep Scotland Beautiful, celebrates clean, well-managed and sustainable beaches; notes that the six beaches are Arbroath West Links, Carnoustie, Lunan Bay, Monifieth, Montrose and East Haven; recognises that, with public health restrictions still in place, many people will look to spend holidays within the UK this year; believes that Angus’ beaches offer a great opportunity to experience beautiful scenery and local hospitality, and congratulates all those involved in managing the beaches for securing the awards through their hard work and community spirit.
