That the Parliament warmly welcomes what it considers the historic recognition deal agreed between the GMB trade union and Uber; understands that this will provide the opportunity of workplace representation for 1,000 workers in Scotland and up to 70,000 across the UK; believes that the GMB and Uber have committed to working together on the company's National Living Wage Guarantee, pension provision, health and safety of workers and more; considers that this is an example of organising in the so-called "gig economy" and creates an important precedent for the provision of rights for workers through collective representation in platform businesses, and congratulates all who have worked to make this happen.
