Citizens Advice Scotland Launches its Money Advice Matters Campaign

  • Submitted by: Jackie Baillie, Dumbarton, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 25 May 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00105

That the Parliament congratulates Citizen’s Advice Scotland on launching the campaign, Money Advice Matters, which will run from 31 May to 11 June 2021; understands that this campaign is to raise awareness of the support and advice that local CABs can offer to people who are worried about bills, arrears or debt piling up; notes that each CAB has specially trained staff to offer advice on a range of matters including on financial concerns; believes with concern that the COVID-19 pandemic has created an economic crisis that has resulted in far more people having money worries due to being out of work; thanks in particular the CAB in West Dunbartonshire, which supports people in the Dumbarton constituency and the surrounding areas; wishes Citizen’s Advice Scotland all the best as it launches this worthwhile campaign, and encourages anyone who has worries about their financial situation to reach out to their local CAB.
