  • Submitted by: Kenneth Gibson, Cunninghame North, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 22 March 2021
  • Motion reference: S5M-24430

That the Parliament congratulates admin team leader, Sandra Stewart, of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, on her 40-year work anniversary; welcomes the news that Sandra received a virtual round of applause on Twitter from colleagues across the service in recognition of her lifelong commitment to her profession; understands that she joined the Strathclyde Fire Brigade on 9 March 1981 straight after leaving school to begin her career in Johnstone, where she lives; is aware that, in her current role at the Local Senior Officer Area HQ in Ardrossan, Sandra and her team provide admin support to more than 45 stations across Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway; recognises that Sandra met her husband, Group Commander Allan Stewart who recently retired, through her work, and sends to her, and everyone involved in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, its very best wishes.
