Mears Scotland Apprenticeships

That the Parliament commends Mears Scotland and North Lanarkshire Council for the creation of 20 new apprenticeship opportunities; notes that, by providing these first steps onto the career ladder, Mears Scotland is working towards its commitment to improving neighbourhoods, creating opportunities for people and developing the next generation of its workforce; understands that this intake of apprentices is an increase on previous years, due to the recognition of the challenges facing young people in Scotland as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and highlights that Mears Scotland have now created 170 apprenticeships to date with North Lanarkshire Council as part of a shared commitment to the creation of new skilled jobs in the community.
