  • Submitted by: Mark McDonald, Aberdeen Donside, Independent.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 09 March 2021
  • Motion reference: S5M-24337

That the Parliament congratulates the pupils and staff of Dyce Primary School in Aberdeen’s Donside constituency for launching a virtual museum; understands that during lockdown pupils collected various artefacts and historical information relating to the village of Dyce; notes that the school established this project as a means of bringing students closer together and helping them to connect with their school; further notes that the project proved so popular that it is now an online resource for everyone to access; recognises that creating the virtual museum improved the children’s local history knowledge whilst also developing their skills in technology; highlights that this project provided the perfect opportunity for the children to get out and explore Dyce during their daily exercise, as well as to connect with loved ones by finding out about their experiences of growing up in Dyce, and applauds the staff involved for encouraging these young learners to appreciate their local history.
