Suspension of Tariffs on Scotch Whisky
- Submitted by: Jackie Baillie, Dumbarton, Scottish Labour.

- Motion reference: S5M-24317
That the Parliament congratulates both the Scotch Whisky Association and the GMB on what it sees as their well-fought campaign to reverse tariffs placed by the US Government; understands that both the new administration of President Biden and the UK Government have reached an agreement that will see these being suspended for four months while both sides seek a long-term settlement, and calls on them to work together to ensure that a settlement is reached as part of a post-COVID-19 economic recovery programme to help provide reassurance to the whisky sector and the many jobs that it supports.
