That the Parliament congratulates Samir Khan-Young, who was named Apprentice of the Year at the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards on 4 March 2021; notes that the event was hosted by Skills Development Scotland as part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week; recognises that Samir is an engineering graduate apprentice at the Govan-based, Thales, where he previously completed a modern apprenticeship, understands that the ceremony celebrated the success achieved through work-based learning by foundation, modern and graduate apprentices in what has been an extremely challenging year; notes that Samir worked nightshifts for Thales’ manufacturing team as its members produced PPE for NHS frontline workers, commends him for his hard work and dedication, and wishes Samir all the best in his future endeavours.
