Itihaas and the Radhuni helping Local Heroes

  • Submitted by: Colin Beattie, Midlothian North and Musselburgh, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 08 February 2021
  • Motion reference: S5M-24094

That the Parliament recognises the excellent work of local business, Itihaas in Dalkeith, and their sister branch, the Radhuni in Loanhead, who have consistently worked throughout the pandemic to provide charity donations through their restaurants; understands the businesses have donated meals to frontline workers such as NHS staff, supermarket staff and delivery drivers, and through this project they have donated over 3000 meals in just three days; notes that the restaurants also raised over £1200 for the charity Children 1st by donating 25p from every takeaway sold in December by both of the restaurants; understands that the businesses have done this as a thank you to the community and heroes who have been keeping us safe through the pandemic; thanks all the team at Itihaas and the Radhuni for all their generous contributions and hard work through the pandemic, and recognises their efforts in making the community a better place.
