Methlick Community Council Awarded £25,000 to Help Fund Sports Facility

That the Parliament congratulates Methlick Community Council on being awarded a grant of £25,000 by sportscotland’s Sport Facilities Fund; understands the grant will contribute toward building a multi-use games area, suitable for a wide range of sports including football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, netball, and athletics; acknowledges that the new facility will provide significantly more opportunities for clubs and the local community to take part in sport and physical activity; notes that priority was given by the Sports Facility Fund to projects with a focus on increasing participation in sport and physical activity amongst young people, women and girls and disabled people, as well as deprived or rural communities; recognises the importance of access to sports facilities to the physical and mental wellbeing of people in Scotland; commends the efforts of the Methlick Community Council in working towards the delivery of a multi-use games area for the village and its surrounding area, and wishes all involved well.
