That the Parliament congratulates John Hamilton, from Orkney, on his remarkable efforts to handcraft a life-size Chevrolet pick-up out of stone; understands that John spent around 1,000 hours carving the six-tonne build ‘Chevy’ atop a steel frame and wheels; recognises that John’s incredible project has captured the imagination of the local community, with various individuals and local businesses supporting his efforts by contributing materials and making donations, as well as the interests of Chevy enthusiasts from around the world who have been commending John’s work on social media; acknowledges that the project is expected to be completed in June, where John hopes that people will be able to come and see it in person; understands that John also intends to build a stone waterfall or wishing well which will be used as a collection space for people to donate to local charities; believes that John’s creativity and hard work, as well as the selfless effort he is making for the Orkney community, is truly exceptional, and wishes him all the very best for the completion of this fantastic project.
