Marlene Croy from Orkney Awarded the BEM

That the Parliament congratulates Marlene Croy, who is from Orkney, on being awarded the BEM in the New Year's Honours List in recognition of her years of voluntary service to St Magnus Cathedral and the community; recognises that Marlene, who has been an elder and looked after the flowers in Cathedral for the past 40 years, was recognised for her meritorious civil service and that her exceptional voluntary work includes supporting the work of the community organisations, Blue Door, the St Magnus Friendship Group, the Orkney Talking Newspaper and the Kirkwall Flower Arrangement Club, where she has twice served on the committee as president; thanks Marlene for her many years of dedicated service and the outstanding contribution that she has made to the Orkney community and the lives of others; believes that the award is testament to her exceptional efforts, and wishes Marlene all the best in her future endeavours.
