Local Charities Work in Partnership with Newlands Morrisons to Deliver Food to Vulnerable People

  • Submitted by: James Dornan, Glasgow Cathcart, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 22 December 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23769

That the Parliament congratulates Pollokshaws Community Hub and Elite Sports on working in close partnership with the Newlands branch of Morrisons, in the Glasgow Cathcart constituency, to organise the purchase, collection and delivery of food packages to people who are ill, isolated or vulnerable due to the social and financial impact of COVID-19 at Christmas; expresses thanks to Morrisons for its assistance in providing food and space for the organisation of this initiative, and its £400 discount towards the purchase of the food and vouchers, and considers that this spirit of partnership has contributed to making Christmas a little less difficult for many families and individuals across the Pollokshaws, Mansewood, Hillpark, Croftfoot and Carnwadric communities.
