  • Submitted by: Claire Baker, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 21 September 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-22769

That the Parliament recognises the hard work and dedication of the volunteers and community representatives at The Lo’gelly Lunches Community Larder throughout the year, and thanks them for their response to the lockdown and continuing restrictions on the community; understands that the larder provides emergency food supplies and takeaway meals and has extended its offering with the provision of packed lunches and a hot hatch service every Friday since April 2020; acknowledges the efforts of volunteers and the Community Council in arranging food collections from across the town; believes that the hard work and dedication of all those volunteering in the service has been exemplary, from those involved in food preparation to those delivering packages to members of the community who are shielding; extends its very best wishes and gratitude to those who have worked so selflessly to provide food support to those in the community who have been so affected by the impacts of COVID-19 and other issues, and also recognises the significant contribution of all the food support services in the area, which was highlighted by Fife Council’s Communities & Neighbourhoods report, Cowdenbeath Area Food Projects April - July 2020.
