That the Parliament welcomes the 20 for 20 initiative, which is led by the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) Scotland; recognises that Scotland’s food and drink industry is a key sector in Scotland’s economy and that its clear ambition is to reach £30 billion turnover for the industry by 2030; notes that, in order to do so, the industry requires a flexible and skilled workforce; further notes that Skills Development Scotland believes that this will require 27,000 new jobs to be created in Scotland, including in Ayrshire, by 2025; understands that FDF Scotland will help the food and drinks industry expand its workforce, and welcomes the expectation that it will place 20 new young people with food and drink manufacturers by the end of 2020.
