That the Parliament congratulates Terry McCourt from Knightswood in Glasgow, who has raised nearly £120,000 for fellow veterans through his tireless fundraising efforts with SSAFA, which is the Armed Forces charity; notes that he has been a dedicated supporter of SSAFA for 15 years, organising collections at Scotland’s busiest stations and taking on fundraising challenges such as the 13 Bridges Challenge in London and the 200-mile Ride to the Somme; acknowledges his long military service as a sergeant with 2nd Battalion the Parachute Regiment, following a family tradition of service with his father and inspiring his son; recognises the vital contribution of volunteers like Terry in supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families across Scotland; understands that, in recognition of his extraordinary dedication, he will be awarded an MBE at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in January 2026; commends what it sees as Terry’s dedication, “Glasgow patter and good work ethic” and ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces community, and wishes him continued success in all his endeavours.
