That the Parliament congratulates the residents of Langlee on successfully fundraising to install a second defibrillator in their community, placed outside Borders Pharmacy on Marmion Road; notes the outstanding support provided by local organisations, including Borders Pharmacy, St John’s Church and the Borders Railway Community Partnership (BRCP), alongside contributions from members of the public; recognises the leadership of local organisers, including SPAR manager, Gary Kowbel, and other community representatives, in coordinating the crowdfunding campaign and raising awareness of the importance of defibrillators; acknowledges that this initiative has already led to three devices being funded, with a third planned for the Langlee Drive area to maximise coverage and ensure public access across the community; understands the critical role that defibrillators play in saving lives during cardiac emergencies; welcomes efforts to encourage regular registration, maintenance and 24-hour accessibility; commends the Langlee community for its commitment to public health and safety, and encourages other communities across Scotland to follow its example.
