Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland Launches Grampian Health Hub

  • Submitted by: Jackie Dunbar, Aberdeen Donside, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 04 November 2025
  • Motion type: Standard Motion
  • Motion reference: S6M-19546

That the Parliament welcomes the recent launch of the Grampian Health Hub by Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland at the Aberdeen City Vaccination & Wellbeing Hub at the Bon Accord Centre and at Get Active @ Northfield; notes that the launch of the health hub in Grampian is part of Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland’s commitment to expanding its services to reach 175,000 people by 2028; understands that the Grampian Health Hub will offer free health checks, such as blood pressure and cholesterol, as well as advice and information to assist in the prevention of conditions, while also supporting individuals to live well with their existing conditions; believes that a tailored women’s health service will also be piloted, supporting women’s heart health through the delivery of women’s specific groups, discussions and establishing a better network with new and existing partners in the area; understands that there are around 80,000 women in Scotland living with heart disease and that it is one of the most common causes of death for women across the country, with heart attacks and heart disease often being underestimated and under-treated in women compared with men, leading to inequalities in heart treatment; further understands that once the Grampian Health Hub becomes more established, Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland will expand its outreach across Aberdeenshire and Moray; commends the efforts of all those involved in bringing forward this partnership, and wishes them all the best.
