  • Submitted by: Rachael Hamilton, Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 08 February 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07865

That the Parliament welcomes the address by Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, to the Parliament of the United Kingdom on the afternoon of 8 February 2023; echoes, and takes inspiration from, the sentiment of Mr Zelensky's address to Westminster Hall, that freedom will be victorious, and evil will be defeated; underlines its steadfast support for the people of Ukraine in their struggle to defend their homeland in the midst of Russia's invasion, and wishes him and the people of Ukraine godspeed in their just fight for sovereignty, and the defence of democracy.
