The Big Small Business Survey

  • Submitted by: Daniel Johnson, Edinburgh Southern, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 07 February 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07760

That the Parliament congratulates the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) in Scotland for launching its biggest ever state of the nation survey project, the Big Small Business Survey; understands that the survey aims to capture the challenges that small businesses, and by extension the communities they represent, currently face in a post-COVID-19 pandemic world; believes that it has been an incredibly challenging time for businesses over the last two years and that 2023 looks like it could be even more difficult; considers that this is why it is more important than ever to open a space up for small business owners to have their say on what they are experiencing, what their challenges and ambitions are, and what effects local, national and global events are having on their businesses, and notes that the survey is open to all small business owners, not just FSB Members, and can be easily accessed via FSB Scotland’s website or social media accounts.
