Accidentals Choir Donates £1,500 to Nairn Charities

  • Submitted by: Edward Mountain, Highlands and Islands, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 26 January 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07635

That the Parliament commends the Accidentals Choir of Nairn for raising £1,500 for two local charities from its annual Christmas concert; notes that the money was split between Greenhive, which it considers works hard to protect the environment in the Nairn community, and Macmillan Cancer Support, which it considers provides vital support to people and their families who are living with cancer; acknowledges that the choir presented Donald Wilson, a recently retired local journalist, a gift to thank him for his support to the choir; recognises that the choir, which returned after two years of inactivity due to the COVID-19 pandemic in June 2022, also held a performance at the United Reformed Church for one of its founding members, Morag Bannigan, who died in December 2020, and wishes the choir success in future events.
