That the Parliament congratulates the national charity Disability Equality Scotland as it prepares to celebrate its 20th birthday on 4 February 2023; considers that, as a membership organisation for disabled people and disability groups and organisations, Disability Equality Scotland has been at the forefront of making Scotland more accessible, equal and inclusive for disabled people for two decades; acknowledges the charity's work as the umbrella organisation for all disability Access Panels in Scotland, providing them with support and guidance to improve the lives of disabled people at a local level; notes that the member-led organisation is committed to promoting access in its widest sense, including physical access to the built and natural environment, as well as access to inclusive communication and inclusion in decision making, whether with planners over inclusive design or transport providers about accessible travel; commends Disability Equality Scotland on reaching this milestone, and wishes the charity ongoing success with its work and ambition for all disabled people in Scotland to live a life of dignity, respect, choice and independence.
