Greener Kirkcaldy: Chief Executive Suzy Goodsir to Step Down After 11 Years

  • Submitted by: David Torrance, Kirkcaldy, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 18 January 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07548

That the Parliament recognises that the chief executive of one of Kirkcaldy’s leading community groups, Suzy Goodsir, is to leave after 11 years at the helm of the charity; notes that Suzy will step down as chief executive in March 2023, having been one of the original volunteers with the charity in 2009, and in that time, it understands, has overseen an expansion to around 40 staff, 100 volunteers and close to 1,000 members; further notes that Suzy will oversee the charity’s community consultation, which closes in January, before taking a career break to volunteer and spend time with her family; commends Suzy for her dedication in developing and leading the charity to be such an integral part of Kirkcaldy and the wider community, and for its role in reducing climate emissions and supporting people in hardship in the community, and wishes Suzy all the best for her next challenge and any future endeavours.
