Congratulating Linda Stevenson

  • Submitted by: Neil Bibby, West Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 22 December 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-07293

That the Parliament congratulates Linda Stevenson and a group of dancers from Renfrewshire who jigged their way to an incredible amount of money for Children in Need and narrowly missed out on a world record; understands that Linda Stevenson runs Strictly TAP Tone and takes part in a UK-wide movement that uses tap dancing to raise money for charity every year; further understands that Linda and her team raised £1,685.50 in 2022, which has helped to contribute to the final figure of £29,135; notes that, unfortunately, the world record eluded them as the target of 7,596 people all doing a tap routine at the same time fell short by just a few hundred; commends Linda and the rest of the participants who it understands were very happy with the outcome of the event, and congratulates them once again on this achievement.
