Birchtree Gardens Donates 43,000kg of Produce to the Local Community

That the Parliament congratulates Birchtree Gardens at Birchtree Farm in California, Falkirk, on donating 43,000kg of home grown fresh produce to those experiencing food poverty throughout the Falkirk district; understands that the group is run by local volunteers who give up their time to helping others within the community; notes that Birchtree Gardens was a recipient of a share of the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund; further notes that a £300,000 grant was awarded to Falkirk Food Futures in March 2022; notes what it sees as the importance of well stocked food banks at a time where it considers that the cost of living crisis is impacting heavily on people’s ability to live within their usual means; recognises Birchtree Farm’s dedication to improving the lives of those in the community by looking to offer skills training and a welfare area for those who require it; congratulates Birchtree Gardens at Birchtree Farm again on reaching a huge milestone of 43,000kg of fresh produce donations, and wishes it well for the future.
