Congratulates Pupils from Bannockburn High School for Being Named Clean Up Scotland Heroes of the Month

  • Submitted by: Evelyn Tweed, Stirling, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 21 September 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05938

That the Parliament congratulates pupils from Bannockburn High School on being named as one of Keep Scotland Beautiful's Clean Up Scotland Heroes of the Month for their fantastic climate action, making them the first winners of the title in 2022; understands that pupils from the Green Initiatives Skills Group took part in a green initiatives programme for six weeks during 2021 when they were S2 pupils, aged 12 to 13; further understands that they litter picked in the Bannockburn area, surveyed the litter that was found and then turned the litter into art or reusable equipment for the school, and acknowledges that over 90 pupils were involved and collected 45 bags of litter, including some unusual finds such as tyres, metal pieces and farming equipment.
