Celebrating and Saving Insch War Memorial Hospital

  • Submitted by: Maggie Chapman, North East Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 25 August 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05746

That the Parliament recognises the significance of Insch War Memorial Hospital and the associated medical practice to the people of Insch; notes that the hospital was built 100 years ago with the support of the community and £7,500 in funding raised by local people; recognises the centenary of this important community facility in 2022, including the celebrations that took place on 21 August 2022; praises what it sees as the tremendous work of Friends of Insch Hospital for their work in campaigning to keep vital community-based services open, providing support for in-patients, running lunch clubs, providing volunteers for day care services, and providing funding for venues to host cardiac rehabilitation and fall prevention classes; hopes that these important community services will continue in the area, and wishes the Friends of Insch Hospital and Community group the very best in their campaign to keep Insch Hospital open.
